DEMANDROIDS GROUP INVITE SYSTEM


Introduction

The Demandroids Group Invite System provides a quick and easy way for people to join your group(s). They simply click on a sign (or other object if you prefer - see GroupInviteMods.html) and a group invite dialog pops up on their screen. Unlike other automated group invite systems, this one does not require you to run a "bot" program on your computer, nor does it require you to leave your computer connected to the Internet 24/7. The droid program that looks after your group invitations runs on one of my computers. Once you have your sign(s) set up you can just forget about them.

Please note that while the signs are copyable to allow you to put out as many as you want, you only get one group registration per purchase. This means that if you want to invite people to two groups, then you need to buy two of these systems (or three systems for three groups, and so on). Ask me about discounts for multiple purchases!

All Demandroids products also come with a function that allows you or your scripts to send dynamically generated notecards to any avatars whose UUID key you have (or can get). See the Advanced Features page for more information on this (among other things)


Summary of Set-up (detailed instructions are provided on a separate webpage)

  1. Pay the purchase price to one of my group inviter signs vendors or buy the system through Shop OnRez or SL Exchange. Due to the resources required by the droids and the fact that I receive no ongoing funding to fund further resources, new signs/systems are now only available to existing customers by directly requesting one from Demantoid Dagger via in-world instant message. In addition to receiving the signs, you will get an IM from the droid assigned to send out your group invitations.
  2. Invite the droid to join your group and add it to a role that has the ability to invite people to join the group. The droid will give you a notecard containing configuration information for your signs.
  3. Rez your signs and drop a copy of the notecard from the droid into each of the signs.
  4. Take the (now configured) signs back into your inventory.
  5. Rez copies of the configured signs wherever you want them and wait for people to use them!
